Wearing purple...

Blipmeet at YSP with lovelupins - and a great day it was despite the potential for wet and windy weather! The forecast had said it would clear up at about 11, there was a huge rainbow as I drove towards Wakefield, and Lupes' bones were promising sun.... And indeed as she arrived in the car park the sun shone, and it continued to shine on us for the rest of our time at YSP, obligingly saving the next horizontal rain shower until we got back to the car.
We were aiming to catch the Song for Coal installation before it finishes mid-April, and it was brilliant. The story of coal told in Gregorian chant through the medium of a kaleidoscopic stained glass window... you really had to be there... Lupes has blipped one of the "windows" beautifully here.
After coffee and cake we wandered down to the heronry(sp?) and watched for ages as the herons flew in and out of the raggy nests with building materials and courtship in mind. My blip today sums up our watching ( definitely more practice with my big lens needed )!
On the way back up the hill we took in the delightful camellia house - open and all in full bloom on this visit - and had a quick look at the Henry Moore exhibition in the Underground Gallery.
A satisfyingly varied day - thanks Lupes!
