Life through the lens...

The Compost maker

Called to see Tom today, on our way to buy seed potatoes.
He was busy sterilising the soil, ready for making his own compost.
I would imagine this old boiler was used by his father, and must therefore be over 100 years old.
He always makes his own compost for his tomatoes. Probably why they taste so good!
The plants were up about 3 to 4 inches, and he said they will probably
be planted into bigger pots when he has finished repairing the large greenhouse, which again has been damaged during the winter.
( That's probably over 100 years old too!)
It was nice to see him in good spirits, and looking forward to the summer!
There was certainly a cold wind blowing again today.
Hope it warms up before Easter!
