Dramatic Skies At Cley

The first day of the holidays proper.

It's been blowing a hooey all day and chucked down for most of it. After a leisurely lie in to get over yesterday's marathon journey we decided to head out for Sunday lunch.

We had a recommendation to try the Three Swallows in Cley. It was a fantastic recommendation as it was one of the nicest Sunday pub lunches I have had in many a year.

It was a handy place to head for as I was able to show everybody Cley Nature Reserve visitor centre. It has recently been updated and a new building added out the back that had only opened the day before. It was mightily impressive.

Whilst we were in there one of the volunteers told us to get outside quick as there was a wonderful double rainbow. I missed photographing that, but the contrast of the bright reed beds and the ink blank stormy skies was equally impressive.

We got back to the camp site in time for a swim and a bite to eat in the caravan before a night cap and collapsing back into bed.

Not a bad first day!
