Hunting Moufflons

We hiked through the forest today with continual chatter about the mysterious moufflon. Today's walk being a leisurely 8 miles. The only sighting of moufflon being one leg, a head and a full skeleton... With a furry leg attached, the moufflon are clearly expert at hiding or nearing extinction due to being hunted.

The walk ended in yet another almost deserted village, this one inhabited by six families. Lunch was served and was hearty local fare... Including some delicious courgette and egg mix, along with bacon, cheese and salad. This was once again washed down with unlimited red wine and a few more glasses of grappa... All for the negotiated reasonable price of €10.

After lunch we visited the monastery at Kikkos, this has to be one of the most opulent places I've ever visited.

On route to tonight's hotel we made one final stop.. At a moufflon enclosure. So it would appear that if you want to see a moufflon go see them in captivity, even then they're not happy about being seen.

Moufflons are mountain goats with curly horns.
