April Fool...

Sign on a bicycle shop near Railroad Square, where people sit next to the tracks drinking Flying Goat Coffee…every day.

During a wander through Railroad Square on the way to get a coffee, surreal things seemed to be everywhere in evidence. Perhaps they just struck me differently since today is April first. A gallery window with a poster full of white rabbits called "Beyond Wonderland" the art of Grace Slick , a shop window with strings of butterflies suspended from the ceiling in front of some well worn toy bunnies on a bench…statues of Peanuts characters, Charlie Brown, Woodstock and Lucy, in engineers' caps and overalls or conductors' uniforms and a giant Easter Bunny costume in the window of a shop called Disguise the Limit Funny Business…odd juxtapositions of fantasy and reality everywhere….

A report on the radio as I was driving home said that the water content of the Sierra snowpack (from whence comes much of the Bay Area's water) was measured this morning at 6% of normal. Unfortunately, I don't think that was an April Fools' joke either.
