Blipfoto's Predecessor

I have always kept a journal in one form or another--with long fallow periods when nothing much seemed to be happening. Then I met Raymond (see my journal for 8/26/12 for the full story). He told me he keeps a handwritten journal, which he fills every six months. What attracted me were the photographs on practically every page, which, to me. give new relevance to the daily chronicle. I began my own version almost immediately.

In July, 2011, we visited Lady Findhorn and His Lordship in Edinburgh. On our last evening, Lady F persuaded me to try Blipfoto, setting me up on my iPhone. I have never looked back, although I did eventually buy a laptop and a better camera.

This morning after intermittent rain and hail aborted an attempt to walk Ozzie down to the creek, the thought of venturing out again was not appealing. I finished my book The Reluctant Fundamentalist, by Moshin Hamid, a thought provoking novel whose ending will keep me musing for awhile, and began casting about for something to do.

Even after a year and a half, we still seem to spend an inordinate amount of time looking for things, and today was no exception, as I decided to delve through shoe boxes of old snapshots for a specific picture I knew I wouldn't have thrown away. I never found the picture, but browsing through my old photo journals turned out to be a rather pleasant rainy day pastime.
