Helvellyn Range

Another terrific day in the Fells on our photographic holiday. The weather forecast wasn't good but better in the eastern regions and, despite being very windy, we only had a couple of showers. Overall I think we were pretty lucky weather-wise.

Our first stop was Castlerigg Stone Circle, in fact one of the places that I'd hoped to visit this week. While I'd captured some good shots of the Circle this view from the far side of the field caught my eye, particularly as the sun was fleetingly illuminately sections of the Fells. With snow atop the Helvellyn Range this was looking pretty good too.

When a bunch of (other) tourists arrived we moved onto St John's in the Vale. We walked over to Tewet Tarn then back to the Church and it was splendid. Loads of pictures captured, a wee bit of exercise, good company and expert photography advice and guidance from John.

As is now the routine, it was back to Fern Howe to select 10 images, shower, change, eat another wonderfully belt-busting dinner from Gail (including sticky toffee pudding) then the evening session to review all of our photo selections.

A super day and the weather forecast looks even better for tomorrow.
