Nash Point Lighthouse

I saw an piece saying the lighthouse was open to the public to have a look around so decided to take the 40 minute drive to take advantage.

Nash Point Lighthouse is located about a mile from Marcross, Near Llantwit Major, South Wales. The lighthouse lies in an unspoilt stretch of South Wales coast. There are splendid views from the headland across to the hills of Devon. For 180 years the lighthouse has been keeping the mariner safe of Nash Sands, a major hazard to shipping in the Bristol Channel. Nash Point was the last manned lighthouse in Wales, the keepers left on 5 August 1998.

Some interesting things about it: -
It holds a licence for weddings (25 guests). It was established in 1832 and is 37 metres high. A white and red group flash twice every 15 seconds and has a range of 24 nautical miles. It operates on a Philips 150 watt halogen bulb which is left on continuously and last 2000 hours.
