Homo connecticus

I suffered a bit more Saturcholia this morning, despite it being a Friday. I've not got very far from home at all. It already feels like Forrest has never been away. The house has become overrun with young men, all with phones in hand. Every young person seems constantly plugged into their virtual social network - although they would argue it's all about organising their real social network.

There has actually been a lot of face to face socialising in the house today, as evidenced by the vast quantity of empty beer bottles left behind! It's hard to imagine now how we used to have social lives before the advent of the mobile phone. But we did. Real life was pretty much the same. I guess it was just a little less spontaneous.
