Life in Sunny Dubai

Sun, sea, sand and Mountains?

It has to be. . . MUSCAT!!!

G did more than just a visa run today, we actually travelled all the way to Muscat to see our friend Hilde who runs/ran a B&B there! She is closing up for the summer, so we thought it will be the last visit for a while...

We have had quite the time. Tea in a very posh new Lebanese café, then off to Ghala to a Good Friday service. First time ever we have been to church in Muscat. That was MOST interesting...

Had to go back to the café as I, er, forgot my phone there. Fortunately, they had it for me, so we had another cup of tea before heading out for quite an amazing culinary experience at the home of an oil tycoon German friend of Hilde's. I have done a few firsts today... namely, had asparagus soup and eaten an artichoke!! I also consumed quite a lot of white wine and stayed up chatting with our hosts till 3am in the morning!!! They have an amazing villa which overlooks the Arabian Sea; and the late night chat was done outside overlooking their infinity pool!!

As Hilde had to clear her place, a blow-up mattress was the bed for the night, and I finally climbed into it at 4am. YIKES!

Oh; my blip is the view from the terrace; looking out towards the Expressway and one serpentine road that goes off it. [Think this is actually with a Manual setting.] We are going to check it out tomorrow...
