DIY

The Easter holidays are traditionally a time for  Do-It-Yourself projects in the UK.  Spring brings with it a renewed enthusiasm for decorating and improving our homes.

However, this year has brought the news of a major DIY chain closing many of its stores.  Is DIY going out of favour?  Do people prefer just to pay others to do the work?

I visited a couple of DIY stores today:  although there were customers there, they were not exactly crowded out.  I will remain a customer: I don't think I can afford to pay others to do everything for me (attractive though that idea is).
