This Monarch butterfly emerged from the chrysalis today. I found it soon after with wings that were in the process of expanding. This photo shows them almost fully expanded and stiff.

Moments later, I watched a caterpillar moult and the chrysalis form. I have never seen anything so amazing. Nature is truly incredible.

This is the second time colour and the Monarch butterfly has taken precedence over the MonoMonday challenge.
 I really wanted a record of these incredible events in my journal.
