Rivals

This song sparrow has been a busy boy, fighting off rivals for the past few days.  First he decided to go after the one that "lives in our window", and he made repeated attempts to discourage it, but the darn rival sparrow just stayed in that window, mocking him.  Then, the rival sparrow had the nerve to move to his new perch in the motor home side mirror and, still...it just wouldn't leave!!  This went on for some time, the frustrated sparrow fluttering its wings in a battle that must have been maddening, since that 'other' sparrow just kept looking right back at him, "mirroring" his every movement.  The nerve of some sparrows!!

I have a better photo of a squirrel, but I liked this one.   One year a robin did this to our back window....hour after hour...attacking his image in the window.  Drove us nuts.  And him, too...I suppose.
