The Fens

We took The Beast  out on the Wednesday CTC ride today. Our leader took us on a mystery tour of the Fens. This pic was taken on the way home alongside  the River Nene of said leader. As you can see it is pretty flat, Most would think this made cycling really easy, but it doesn't. We had to peddle constantly. When there are hills you have to peddle like mad up, but can free-wheel down. Thus giving your legs a little rest. However on a sunny day with little wind its a good day for the rare ride out on the Fens.  It was great with the wind behind us, two engines on the Beast - we could go at some speed and maintain it. A couple of the solo riders kept up quite easily - and they are both over 65!

I dropped my camera at one of the 'catch our breath' stops. It still works ok, but I think it has dislodged some dust inside the camera onto the sensor. Mr PB has taken it apart once before so I will ask him to do it again and clean it. At least I know what it is this time.
