Boreraig and Suisinish, Skye

Today we chose a ten mile loop walk, taking in the cleared villages of Boreraig and Suisinish. Despite the glorious weather, it still felt a little spooky amongst the ruined blackhouses. The people forcibly cleared from here in 1850s were very badly treated.

In the end we only walked 8 miles. This was because we were offered a lift by a party in a red minibus at the end of our route. They spotted us trudging along the road back to our car and were kind enough to stop and ask where we were heading.

We were just as surprised as they were to discover that we'd all been together yesterday at Talisker Beach. I'd even spoken to the driver when blipping my mono footsteps in the sand. They were on an organised photography holiday from Germany (even though the driver sounded like a New Zealander to us) so I told them all to sign up to Blipfoto.

Exercise today: 8 mile walk.
