The Main Bridewell, Liverpool

This looks pretty derelict to me, but it is in fact still in use as the main police holding cells in Liverpool. I'm sure that its walls hold some stories. As I took this picture a prison van arrived complete with some very loud banging coming from inside. 

It is not usually possible to see much of the Bridewell from the outside, and this temporary view has been afforded by the fact that the building in front became derelict and has just been demolished prior to redevelopment. Probably student accommodation. With a view.

p.s. off on my bike for a week, so I will be temporarily detached from the world of blip. Will try to catch up on my return.
