A Walk in the Hills

The owners of our accommodation, Eleni and Kirkos, had suggested this walk. Past the harbour and up the gorge as if to Lisos , but continue straight on when the path divides and up to the top of the gorge and out into a hidden valley, with hills all around (up to about 2000 feet). We stopped for lunch while vultures soared silently overhead, appearing to come from nowhere. The same could be said for where they were headed. We wandered on before our descent, which always had the sea in sight, and passed by this small hillside church. Shut.

The walk was really pleasant. It took us about 4 hours of gentle ambling, taking in the sounds, the sights and the smells. And in all that time how many people did we meet? None.
