Battling Mandarins

Beautiful sunny warm day and chance to get out for a quick walk at lunchtime. There are several male mandarin ducks on the lake and I watched a couple have a real go at each other with lots of splashing and flapping. The victor returned to his female and puffed up his neck feathers in victory. The loser suffered the further indignity of being chased of by a territorial coot. 

The campus is beautiful currently - blossom and flowers everywhere and hardly any students as they are all on vacation.
