Air traffic angst

This was the beautiful view from my hotel balcony in early morning light today. Majorca is lovely in the spring, with wonderful light on the warm coloured stone of old buildings, and lush swathes of yellow flowers fringing many of the inland roads.

After yesterday's long delay in reaching Majorca for the launch of some new Ford cars, we spent today playing catch-up, with a technical briefing straight after breakfast and an early start to the driving route to sample the latest S-Max models.

Then it was an afternoon of angst as we waited at Palma airport to find out whether the striking French air traffic controllers would again affect our flight. At one point it looked as though we might be forced to stay on the island for another night, but eventually we took off after only a two hour delay. The bonus was that it meant we landed back at Stansted after the rush-hour, just in time for a traffic-free trip home.
