A Day Worth Recording

Daffed

Mixed day today. Fixed a lock to the Butler's apartment connecting door this morning to ease the flow / security when it's combined with the main house for larger groups.  After lunch we went off to Dymock where people had told us (well, implied anyway) there were zillions of daffodils.

Having had our expectations set by Thriplow (where there are zillions) we assumed swathes of yellow.  Following the Daffodil Trail for a while over green and dill-free fields, we found a few bunches.

I understand that "Where are the daffodils?" was rather a frequent question at the church-cum-information centre.  Apparently it's a 25-mile walk, or something.

We'd not budgeted that long, and needed to get back home to meet visitors.

This evening we went along to a concert of Swedish acapella singing in a neighbouring village.  The singing was excellent; the organisation not.

Starting over a quarter of an hour after the stated start time, with no apology, is somewhat disrespectful to the audience, in my book; especially when the ticket price was possibly the highest I've (well, E'd) ever paid for a village evening folk concert.
