Seaside

C and family have come up to Embra for the harp festival, so we met up for a wee jaunt this afternoon. We decided on a beach in the end and headed out to East Lothian; D and I were thinking of Gullane but the wee voices from the back asking "Are we there yet?" meant that the first bit of beach we saw would have to do. So Longniddry Bents it was. (Or...they were?)

After some scrambling about on the rocks and my first gannet sighting of the year, we headed back along the coast to Portobello for the proper seaside experience; candy floss not yet available, but we made do with  ice cream. The beach was hoachin' with all human (and canine) life forms, and several people were actually swimming. In the sea. Aargh!

After a welcome feed at P. Express back in Leith Mr H and I retired to the sofa to watch Mr Turner. Brilliant film. (Surely he must have taken grunting lessons from Ogotadomar.)  ;-)
