Narcissi

We inherited a Leylandii hedge which we have reduced somewhat over the years. However it does afford some privacy from the public path at the back of the garden and some shelter from the wind. The pigeons like this privacy as well, and there was a fair flurry of activity this morning, with one atop the feeder pole overseeing proceedings while another pursued a possible mate around the grass.
The insert is the group of narcissi just beside the nearer bird. These are also more of the ecobulbs (mentioned yesterday) that I replanted last year from tubs. You can see what a difference a low and wide angle makes to the impact of the flower image. The daffodils are at their best now as they were not open earlier when it was so cold and wet, and recently they enjoyed a spell of wonderful warm weather, although fresh winds from the Atlantic have put paid to that. This also is a record of the first signs of budding on the little Discovery apple tree on the right.
