Curses.

9 hours in and my poor Dell is still "repairing disk errors". My little old emergency Surface has no Lightroom, no PhotoShop, and no space to store photos. Hence the out-of-focus phone blip from the strangely prescient "Anti Social Network Journal". If the disk fix doesn't work we'll have to wipe the whole pc and rebuild from scratch. All of my exported photos are backed up, but not all of the source files. That's a lesson learned.

The silver lining is that today has been a good day for some course reading. I discovered Keith Arnatt and his wonderful series on Dog Walkers and Gardeners; Tina Barney's opulent and staged takes on family portraits.
