Sunny treats

Working outside this afternoon, I kept the camera handy for the visitors to the cup feeder. The robins are the bravest souls, coming near enough to photograph. While looking out of the kitchen window, waiting for the kettle to boil, I watched a starling feed from the cup. It's a messy business, dipping that sharp, open beak into the cup and coming out with seemingly no seeds, but scattering them all over the ground below. Whisky lay out on the table and Omar ate some grapes. She's super-charged with all the sun, though it's too cold at night to keep the guinea pigs out. The trio had a fine time mowing the lawn.

This evening's treat was a trip to the South London Theatre to see Simon play in The Night Season, which was surprisingly funny and acted superbly. I was really happy to see folk there who I hadn't expected, including a couple we'd met at a wedding and who we'd promised to meet shortly after. That was two years ago. We've now set a date for next month. Hooray!
