The DDH (Devonshire Dock Hall) the building is 51 Mtr High, 260Mtr long and 58Mtr wide covering 6 acres. It is the second largest shipbuilding hall in Europe and has a 24,300 ton ship lift immediately outside the main doors.
It was built for the construction of submarines and is to be extended in the near future so as to increase its capacity.
