Rose-ringed Parakeet

This must be a female Parakeet, because the male has the rose coloured ring around his neck and she doesn't. She looks mightily indignant that I'm pointing my big lens at her, as I've said before, for a bird that has a red beak & is bright green they are amazingly secretive and shy and they do not have the characteristics in the wild of bird you usually link with a loud, brash like a Parrot. In flight they are stunning with their long tapered tail and their feathers of many shades & variations of bright green.
