Recreational use only

We are blessed in the West Midlands with many miles of canals some of which still work for their lives in industrial terms, some of which work in leisure terms, and some of which serve as fantastic recreational facilities for the community.  Most of them are very beautiful fascinating places.  This is one of those.  This stretch of the canal had to be worked on as part of the development of the Merry Hill Shopping Centre in Brierley Hill and now provides a beautiful modern walkway past eating places and the shopping centre before dropping down through a long flight of locks and disappearing out into the countryside depending on which turning you take!

The bridges, tunnels, brickwork, wildlife and sheer history all enthral me.  I hope you can see all the different textures in this shot aswell as the liquidity of the sunshine on the water.

This is monomonday 63, Water.
