Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Back Home!

Home safely after hours sitting around airports... The organisation for getting everyone to their various train stations, airports, hotels etc was pretty good. I know we're not meant to advertise, but the tour company's name implied that they did the most scenic parts of the country.

Back home to potholed roads and the increasing shambles that is Edinburgh city centre. Taxis have been banished from inside Waverley Station, or even out on Waverley Bridge - er, where people want them... So people arriving have to lug their suitcases for miles in search of one. Who thought that was a good idea?

We dropped our bags and headed straight off to pick up the lad. He's had a great time with Kirsty and her dog Dexter, even going to their local pub and being allowed to wander around it, meeting folk, like Dexter.

He's holding the Duty Free bag hopefully, but sorry, Archie, it was some Dutch Biscuits for Kirsty...

Thanks for popping in all this week - I just haven't had the time or energy to catch up with you all.

It's so nice to come home, even from a luxury holiday!
