Oats Royd Mill

Oats Royd Mill, Luddenden - Nr. Halifax was built 1887 and destroyed by fire in 1989.  At its prime it employed 2,000 workers and was the major employer in the area.
It took 21 years for the damaged building to be demolished and the remainder converted into 42 one and two bedroom apartments.  Nice to see the chimney survived :-)
Just found this photo of the fire.
