A walk out to Deerness to look for newly arrived birds. The wind from the west was strong and cold but at least the rain stayed away. On Mull Head reserve I saw a few great skuas or bonxies in the local parlance. They aren't too popular with many people as they parasitize other species and will dive-bomb intruders on their nesting territory. One did buzz me it's a little early in the season for a full swoop. I saw my first wheatear of the spring- a male. The bird in this image is a fulmar.
