Triffid?

I have 3 of these plants in my garden. They have been coming up for about 5 years now. I am fairly sure they were given to me by a friend that I see very rarely now and am hoping that one of the gardeners amongst you will be able to tell me what they are.

After an initial blip with the online marketing of our house, it is on all the relevant sites as from this morning and we have 5 viewings booked in already. I was most impressed with the audio tour! Whatever next?

I have been good with the water today and seem to have spent a great deal of time in the loo!
