Hollow Tines

After chores in the morning, it was time to try my new garden tool.  It is a device to pull out some plugs of soil from the grass.  With such action, all sorts of goodness gets to the roots of the grass and the roots are liberated from their compactness to provide even greener grass than they ever have done before.  Wonderful.

The manual device requires insertion into the ground.  No great distance is required - 2/3 inches.  Easy.  All all the youtube videos suggest it is very easy indeed.

Except it isn't.  Not with very well trodden grass with all sorts of builders rubble just underneath the surface.

No youtube videos for such circumstances.

At the moment, the grass is winning.  It is not yielding its plugs of soil without very significant resistance.

At least the crown imperial lilies are almost there.
