We Need A Little Bit Of Rain, Please

We haven't had any significant rainfall for a few weeks now - and it is beginning to show. The ground is cracking up and there is even a dry path through the boggy bit in our woods!

This farmer was sowing in a recently ploughed field and there were plumes of dust enveloping his tractor as he moved along.

Whilst we were out there was a fire engine going up and down Heygate Lane (a bridle way / farm track) but without the lights flashing. As we progressed along the lane we came across this - which only a couple of days ago had been a 20ft high stack of bales recently collected from the field of elephant grass. It was still smouldering, so presumably they had been to check up on it. I don't know if it spontaneously combusted or was set alight.

In the afternoon I met up with some of our camera club at Bradford Industrial Museum - some of my shots are on flickr. There were eight of us and I think we outnumber the rest of the visitors.
