The Curious Incident of a Night at the Theatre

So after yesterday’s long day there was only one place I was going to work and that was home.  A bit of a frustrating day because of problems with the wireless broadband, i.e. it’s rather painfully slow.

Good evening though, went with a friend to the Wales Millennium Centre to watch the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, it was originally a book by Mark Haddon.  I’d only just read and find it very moving but also in places funny.  If you’re not aware of the story it’s about a young lad called Christopher Boone who has Aspergers Syndrome, and it is written in a first person perspective through his eyes.  I thought it was an excellent book, so was looking forward to the play and didn’t disappoint.

Christopher was played by Joshua Jenkins and he was outstanding, full of energy but very intense.  He was sweating conkers through the play, and I wonder how he can sleep after giving a performance like that each night.  What a talent!

There was a bit of a drama in the audience during the play as well, as they had to stop the play to deal with a gentleman who had been taken ill.  He walked out of the auditorium in the end, so hopefully he was ok.

Good Italian meal before the theatre as well, well apart from burning my mouth on the Minestrone soup.  Lol!
