Other travellers

After our 1500 mils, we have arrived back in the Hebrides to find we are sharing our garden with another set of migrants. They've come form a lot further south than us and several will go on much further north - and they weight less that 15g. This Wheatear is one of them. Suddenly they are everywhere here and show Spring is happening.
Not that you would believe it from the cold biting wind and regular hail squalls coming through. Just after taken this image , the same bird was taking shelter behind our sea wall, looking about as chuffed as we are about the current "Summer " weather. A bit of a shock after the south of France.
High excitement today on two counts. Firlsty I had an interview for supply teaching up here. A bit of a shock as my last (and first) work interview was over 36 years ago for a post at Wellington. It felt odd to be on the answering end of the interview rather than the questioning where I have been for the last ten years.
Secondly much celebration as it was my last visit to the Doctors' surgery to get my back dressing changed. As it transpired I was the last patient that Morag, one of the nurses there, treated after over thirty years of working in the surgery. Hats off to anyone who can deal with ill people for that long.
