The old and the new

I never take the old hydrangea heads off in the autumn, preferring to remove them in the spring.  I think I've left it quite late to do as this years growth is now quite abundant.
I have had the most horrendous cold for the last few days but I'm now beginning to feel a little better. I always think a summer cold is worse because I feel weird snuggling under a blanket with a hot water bottle when its so gorgeous outside. Oh well. I went the whole winter without being ill so I suppose I should be grateful.
