Swan Nesting

Yet again a pair of swans has chosen to nest on the edge of Seafield Pond. They have built their nest right at the end of a small promontory of reeds that sticks out at the far edge of the pond so the only way to capture the mother on the nest was to use a telephoto lens with an extender. Whilst I was photographing her she was constantly busy doing running repairs to the nest so a lot of my images show a swan with her head down pulling at the reeds for more building material. Hopefully this year there be a little family of cygnets as last year the two parent swans suddenly disappeared with no obvious signs of cygnets around.
