Blasted Tree

Having just had a molar extraction at the dentist I consoled myself by driving around the countryside around Haddington area looking for suitable photographic subjects. I had my IR kit with me and I wanted to catch some of the deciduous trees as they are just coming into foliage. In the end though I got diverted by this dead tree in the middle of a field which was just so striking. Whether it had been hit by lightning or just died of natural causes I'm not sure but it somehow dominated the landscape.
