Tree Peony in Bud

Spring is budding out all over and like crazy it is catching up. the weather is still cool enough for the tree sap to be collected for making maple syrup.
This tree peony got covered in a wire cage in time to keep the nibbling deer from removing all the buds.
This blooms a month earlier than the bush peonies.
