My next Quarry?

Always on the hunt for places to establish new Nature Reserves. Perhaps this should be a quarry to be hunted down.

This vast area ceased operation more than a decade ago.
If not a nature reserve what could it be? A natural stadium for the next World Cup? A stage for Verdi's Aida or a rock concert venue? Perhaps a rock climbing centre?

We have two excellent Nature Reserves in the AONB which are based in old quarries. Why not another? There are already Peregrine nests which is a start. But establishing vegetation might be an uphill task. The floor did have many Buddlea bushes, a butterfly paradise, but the owners have killed the all off.

A prize is offered for he best suggestion of how to use this vast cauldron which is just twenty minutes on foot from my front door. The prize? A chance to have your Blip name mentioned in my journal.
