Bring Your Own

There wasn't much to do on the work front today, as I am mostly waiting for people to respond to things I've done. So market in the morning, drinking wine in the afternoon ... why not?

It was a rather unusual wine tasting. Everyone was invited to bring a bottle of their favourite local rosé and then we did a blind tasting of all of them to decide which was the best. It was more popular than expected, and there were 30 bottles.

Have you ever tried tasting more than four wines in one sitting? You soon lose the ability to distinguish between them (and yes, I was sipping and mostly not swallowing as I was driving). Even with a little walk around outside halfway through we only managed nine each. Not everyone was so abstemious, judging by the rising noise levels.

Once nearly all the bottles were empty, the organiser announced that he was incapable of totting up the results or telling us which wine was which, so we were left in suspense and will have to wait and see what we should be drinking this summer.
