Rodents rule

Grubby

It was a tough decision between Mr Grubby here and delicate small blue, but the eyebrows got it. He and Mrs Blackbird are becoming more and more bold. He's very much watching me here as he needs to pop past me on his way to the hedge. That grub needs to feed a hungry mouth and I'm pretty certain there's a nest in the hedge in our garden. I have all my digits crossed that the cats stay away. The blackbirds fell foul last time they chose that spot, but then we had a killer cat next door. She's moved away, thank goodness and Whisky isn't a great catcher.

Mr Blackbird has a very hooked beak. It must get in the way, but I imagine it's also useful for spearing grubs.
