Grisedale and Ullswater from St. Sunday Crag

Another of those memorable days. Beautiful weather, almost too warm for toiling up the slopes.

Today we walked from Deepdale Bridge up and along the Hartsop above How ridge to Hart Crag, then over to Fairfield, down to Cofa Pike, St. Sunday Crag and finally to Birks before dropping back down into Deepdale at Wall End. A walk of over 10 miles with 3,300 feet of ascent.

This shot from high above Grisedale highlights the lovely green of the dale, the browns of the fells as well as the southern end of Ullswater, perhaps our favourite lake in the District.

Back at the hotel we enjoyed a good stretch off, a few cups of tea and a welcome shower before a most enjoyable beer and a tasty, if somewhat sparse dinner.

Thank you for the comments on the last two days, I'll try and catch up with them today.
