Kaiser Friedrich

This was taken just outside the Nassauer Hof hotel - Motto - for those with more money than sense...  You would normally see a statue of Kaiser Friedrich here but he's been taken away for some maintenance.

I think someone has been quite clever & funny here, the screens showing scenes from Wiesbaden way back in 1900 also have the words "Des Kaisers neue Kleider" on them.  That translates as "The Emperor's new clothes".  I think that's touching on genius.

And for all those grammar fans out there I can tell you that normally it's "der Kaiser" but here it's in the Genitive case and therefore "des Kaisers" (the clothes belonging to the Kaiser).  And if you want, I could explain why the word order is not as we would expect.  But I'm sure the demand for that explanation is not that high.
