Pupslangweilig
Is a German way of describing something as "deadly boring". "Stinklangweilig" is a more common term ("lang-weil-ig" means dull, "stink" needs no translation, "Pups" is another word for a flatulent episode).
The word cropped up as we were back at the Eye Clinic in the hospital so that they could check on G. We had a couple of problems - the receptionist gave us a folder belonging to someone else and the department where we were sent, sent us back to get the right folder (how could we make such a stupid mistake?)....
And so we ended up in a waiting room with a very odd couple who had decided to take seats that meant any other couple who came in couldn't sit together.
After waiting for 40 minutes or so (and you always wait in a German Hospital), I nipped off to do a bit of food shopping. I thought I could get a few bits, go back to the house and start tonight's dinner and G would be home by the time it was ready.
However, as soon as I disappeared, everything speeded up and G was on her way home before I had finished shopping.
She's to keep taking the drops every hour and has another appointment on Monday afternoon.
Fingers crossed.
