Lollipop moment

You can treat this as a reminder that Garlands changed colour - ooh, many years ago. Way back then, it was the third of my #leithwalkshops series.

I prefer to think of it as a tribute to the solero moment, recreated in the centre of Edinburgh today. .

In reality, it's just a statement of the lengths people will go in a city where many housing units have no access to a garden that people will go to sit outside when they get home from work. We saw any number of people sitting in similar positions as we wended our way up the hill in a number 11 bus, to go to hear Sean O'Hagan talking about what's the latest in photography movements at the National Galleries. It was obviously an important moment, as the Director of the NG himself was there. I found it stimulating, if not necessarily well presented (too much of a cook's tour). He came across as a man whose specialism is the 1000 word piece. Me - I don't even get out of bed if it's not to provide 20k words....
