ANZAC

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Young and old gathered to commemorate those who served in Military operations for their countries. Dawn parades, services and wreath laying are held in every town and city, no matter how big or small as today is ANZAC day - Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.

Our parade was led by the local pipe band followed by three flag bearers - senior head students from Rangiora High School, dignitaries, war veterans and service and youth groups. In honour to those who served a Mustang flew overhead.

It was this solitary moment as the sun was going down, two men from the Military quietly chatting as the field of white crosses caught the last of the sun, a time to reflect - We will remember them.

We enjoyed lunch outside under the umbrella on this t-shirt autumn day. At 4pm it was 22C goodness knows how warm it was round noon as gusts of nor'west wind came through.

Edit: Kaiapoi Memorial

Christchurch had the national high - a warm 25C
