At the going down of the sun and in the morning...

....We Will Remember Them.

We joined thousands this morning at the Anzac Day dawn parade which is held at Ohinemutu on the shores of Lake Rotorua, a very special place with the steam swirling around as the sun came up over the lake.
This year was the 100th Anniversary of the Landing of the NZ troops at Gallipoli, where so many lost their lives.

We stopped at the Memorial in Government Gardens on the way home to see the crosses which have been installed in rows, each with the name of one of our locals who had died at Gallipoli. The early sun created wonderful shadows between the rows.
