evening at Anvil Point

...today was mostly a sorting out day - waiting in for a delivery, dusting, vacuuming and a big Tesco expedition in advance of the holiday weekend. The weather looked much like yesterday but was actually much muggier in the absence of any breeze.

One of our favourite summers' evening walks takes us from home to the South West Coast Path by Anvil Point lighthouse. The rabbit trimmed grassland that flanks the coast, is a riot of birdsfoot trefoil, sea thrift, and gladiolus. It was a shame that the sun didn't manage to break through the cloud but the wild flowers made for some colourful foreground interest to the lighthouse.

While returning via the Great Globe and Durlston Castle, I realised just how many potential blips I have available to continue my series of images showcasing Purbeck stone - which is as it should be in a town whose history is, quite literally, set in stone...
