pier of the year 2012

...woke up to a heavy sea mist, which was weird because, after yesterday's calm, the wind was back. Nonetheless, it was dry and still warm.

This morning, after reading about it in the local press, we walked down to Swanage to see if there were any knickers knitters on the pier. Apparently, there was meant to be a posse of knitters on the pier, knitting bunting to a) decorate the pier for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee; and, b) celebrate National Knitting Week 2012. Bizarrely, despite being on their website, the pier staff didn't know anything about it! Which is why there are no knitters in this blip! But I decided to use it as today's image on the grounds that it is Pier of the Year 2012.

Incidentally, the malapropism above is not without some sense, as our local theatre, the Mowlem, is staging The Knicker Lady later this month...
